2017 Roberts Road Vineyard Pinot Noir 750ml

For our series of vineyard designate wines, we’ve drawn small lots of fruit from the best of our estate vineyard sites. Available in very small amounts, these wines showcase the extraordinary individual character of each vineyard’s terroir and clonal selections. Roberts Road Vineyard is located in the northern part of the famed Petaluma Gap appellation. The fog from the ocean near Bodega Bay pours into this region first, and exits last. Therefore most of the day is spent in fog and clouds which produce extremely small berries and low yields. Well-drained cobblestone soils and cool, foggy mornings make for a long growing season. The grapes ripen slowly and develop deep, rich flavors making for a rare wine with natural acidity and suppleness.

Tasting Notes

This medium-ruby wine has well-integrated aromatics and flavors, showing raspberry, dark cherry and notes of orange peel with freshly simmered strawberry rhubarb jam; added with hints of lilac and orange peel. The texture is supple, creamy and expansive. The concentrated fruit notes are balanced and minerally-driven leading to a long and focused finish.
